My first hand pollination experience

A female zucchini flower
Yesterday morning during my routine garden petrol, I found lots of zucchini flowers dropped on the ground after two days' rain. There was no sign of any zucchini growing. As usual I used my ultimate gardening encyclopaedia - the Internet - to look up for how to get zucchini to produce fruits.
So I learnt there are male and female flowers on a zucchini plant. Usually the bees will come and pollinate them, but I have never seen mine with both types of flowers open at the same time.
We ended up picking up a male flower on the ground, still fresh, and touched its pollen on to a couple of female flowers.
Hubby and I can't wait to have our first home-grown zucchini, so we decided to do this hand pollination instead of waiting for any potential bee/s to do it.
