Bud?

The suspected gladiolus had a "bump" in one leaf when we arrived in October (centre of image). It did not change very quickly at all. I have been watering it more frequently recently and it seems a bit bigger, with more additional leaf-like shoots splitting at the tip.

I hope it is a bud, but it looks more like a new plant to me at the moment.
